Abstract

The primary focus of this study is to assess the impact of business creation instruction in the area of hotel management in Egypt. This evaluation will be conducted using qualitative research methodologies, specifically through conducting interviews with faculty members hailing from five different state-owned universities in Egypt. The outcomes derived from this study underscore a significant insufficiency present in Egyptian hospitality schools when it comes to implementing a cohesive and comprehensive strategy for the inclusion of entrepreneurship education in their academic curricula. It is evident that these institutions exhibit a notable shortfall in the adoption of the EntreComp framework, which serves as a fundamental guideline for fostering entrepreneurial competencies among students. The implications of this study are of considerable academic importance as they pave the way for prospective research endeavors in the realm of tourism and hospitality education. Furthermore, they advocate for the enhancement of entrepreneurship education across hospitality institutions in Egypt and the adaptation of the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (EntreComp) to align with the specific requirements of the local context.
